Zirconia Crowns
A zirconia crown is a metal-free restoration that covers the whole tooth. It combines strength with a natural appearance, and its light transmission gives an aesthetic result close to a real tooth. It is used both to renew a single tooth and as part of a full smile design. In Istanbul the treatment takes three days, within a four-night programme.
What is a zirconia crown?
Zirconia is a white, ceramic-based and metal-free material used in dentistry. A zirconia crown is a restoration fitted over a prepared tooth so that it covers it completely. Unlike traditional metal-based crowns, it has no metal substructure.
Thanks to this structure, light can pass through the crown as it does through a natural tooth, so the result looks more vivid and natural. As a biocompatible material, it is also well tolerated by the gums.
How it differs from a metal-based crown
In metal-based porcelain crowns, the metal beneath the porcelain can show over time as a dark line at the gum edge, and because it blocks light the crown looks more opaque. Zirconia has no metal base, so this dark line does not form and natural light transmission is preserved.

Dark line at the gum edge, blocks light
Zirconia Crown
Metal-free, transmits light, looks natural
Advantages of zirconia
- Metal-free and biocompatible — kind to the gums
- A natural look thanks to light transmission
- No dark shadow at the gum line
- Reduced sensitivity to hot and cold
- Long-term colour stability

Online consultation (from home)
You share photos of your teeth over WhatsApp. The dentist makes an initial assessment and we send how many teeth may be crowned, the options and a personalised quote within 24 hours.
Day 1 — Preparation and impressions
After an examination and X-rays, the teeth are prepared under local anaesthetic. To make room for the crown, a thin layer (about 20%) is reshaped on each surface, impressions are taken and temporary crowns are fitted. This appointment takes around 2 hours.
Day 2 — Free day
There is no clinic visit on this day while your crowns are made in the laboratory. You can spend the time exploring Istanbul.
Day 3 — Try-in and bonding
The permanent crowns are tried in first, and colour and fit are reviewed together. Once you approve them, the aesthetic adjustments are made and the crowns are bonded permanently.
Day 4 — Final check-up
Your bite and gum fit are checked one last time and aftercare is explained. After this check-up you are ready to fly home.
